meet the farmers
mission statememt
At Berry Simple Farm, our mission is to provide the local community and wholesale markets with fresh, locally grown produce. We are committed to creating a sustainable farm that benefits consumers, supports the environment, and strengthens the local economy, all while achieving financial success.
Founded in 2005 in southern Fauquier County, Virginia, Berry Simple Farm LLC was born out of a desire to fund the college educations of the owners’ four young children. True to our name, we pride ourselves on being a simple farm that focuses on a limited selection of specialty crops, including blueberries, fingerling potatoes, rhubarb, and ginger. In 2023, we proudly donated over 1,400 pounds of produce to the Fauquier Food Bank, valued at $4,400.
Although Berry Simple Farm operates part-time, our dedication is anything but small. Owner Rick Crofford balances his role as the Culpeper District Environmental Manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation with his passion for farming. Outside of work, Rick enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, as well as investing in real estate.
By keeping our operations simple and focusing on quality over quantity, we strive to make our produce the best available for our community.
